Some harsh words were recently exchanged on the social networks between former champion Shane Mosley and Paulie Malignaggi.

Mosley (47-9-1, 39KOs), a former three division world champion, has been inactive since a TKO defeat to Anthony Mundine in November of 2013.

Malignaggi (33-6, 7KOs), a former two division world champion, has been out of the ring since last April's knockout loss to Shawn Porter. He was scheduled to fight again on Friday against Danny O'Connor, but suffered a cut in training and was forced to withdraw. Malignaggi still plans to fight again, likely on a date in the fall.

Mosley threw the first stone, challenging Malignaggi to face him on a BKB (Big Knockout Boxing) card. BKB matches are fought inside of a small pit instead of using a traditional boxing ring - and that allows for more action because both fighters have little room to move. Mosley trained Curtis Stevens for his recent BKB fight with Gabe Rosado.

"I would fight Paul Malignaggi on BKB for sure. No where to run. No where to hide. Let's go," Mosley wrote. "Man I would fight you on BKB for free just cause it would be fun. A mil for a 7 round sparring session? Done and done"

Malignaggi replied: "Shane Mosley, if you fight me it's gonna be in a boxing ring not in BKB. I'll box circles around your old ass, you wouldn't win a round. You serious [about the money] Shane? Says the guy who says he doesn't need the money? You see what they pay in BKB? You're kidding right? LOL. Shane just scared he don't have the legs left at his age to handle movement in an opponent."
