Mosley Helped Cintron Prepare For Alvarez Challenge
By Rick Reeno
A training camp insider advised BoxingScene.com that former three division world champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley spent a few days in Kermit Cintron's training camp, helping him prepare for Saturday's fight with WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (38-0-1, 28KOs). The HBO televised fight takes place at Monumental Plaza de Toros in Mexico City, Mexico. Mosley provided Cintron (33-4-1, 28KOs) with some quality sparring at trainer Ronnie Shields' gym in Houston, Texas.
Cintron, according to several sources, looks very impressive in camp and displayed his old "killer instinct" mentality.
"Mosley spent a few days with Kermit and really helped him work on speed. When those two guys sparred, it was a war. Cintron looks great. He looked like the same fighter who blew away Walter Matthysse [in July 2007]," the insider said.
This is getting me worried
Cintron has cause some upsets for sure, but Canelo is young and strong and been improving with every performance. Pumped for this fight :boxing:Comment by vacon04 on 11-22-2011
So he fought what, some quality 30 seconds with Mosley until he gassed out and decided to run?Comment by Babyboy33749 on 11-22-2011
Come on y'all.. Give old grandpa some credit, his last 2 fights sucked yes they did... But just cuz a fighter can't beat PAC or floyd doesn't mean they lost it. Kobe Bryant can't score 40 points in every gameComment by Mojita on 11-21-2011
I don't think it's good sign if Cintron had to go to "war" with old man mosley.
You'll be surprised even Mayweather can have a war in sparring. It's just sparring, nothing serious.Comment by Devils Advocate on 11-21-2011
I could see that happening, if Cintron loses he should hand em up though.Post a Comment - View More User Comments (16)
