WBA bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno (35-2-1, 12KOs) of Panama will not be able to defend his title against mandatory challenger Juan Carlos Payano (15-0, 8KOs) on August 8th at the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Payano's promoter, Mike Tyson Productions, put in the winning purse bid for the match and planned to stage it on that date.

According to Moreno's wife and manager, Rouss Laguna Moreno, there is not enough time for her husband to obtain a work visa. She says discussions are already ongoing for the fight to take place on a date in September.

"Mr. Henry Rivalta [of Iron Mike Productions] spoke with me and he said tentatively they are looking for a new date in the month of September," Laguna said.

Dammit, if there's one thing the lower weight divisions of boxing needs, it's MoreMoreno. But seriously though, I do want to see him fight more. I believe he's second only to Rigondeaux in terms of pure boxing ability around the 126-118 area. Seems to throw more punches, too.
