Undefeated middleweight and Contender season one winner, Sergio Mora (20-0-1, 5KOs), pulled off a surprise sixth-round stoppage over an inactive Rito Ruvalcaba (31-9, 27KOs) at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in Cabazon, California.

Mora and the word knockout are usually not paired in the same sentence. He started slow, but began to dominate Ruvalcaba in the sixth, pounded him to get the stoppage, although it did appear premature. On the other hand, Ruvalcaba has not fought since a 2004 first-round KO loss to Jose Luis Zertuche and looked just as rusty after being off for over-three years.

In a battle of lightweights, Vicente Escobedo (16-1, 11KOs) won an easy ten-round unanimous decision over Pascali Adorno (10-7-2, 4KOs). Escobedo used to his superior boxing skills to win every round on the official cards. The judges saw it 100-90 across the board.

Golden Boy Promotion's welterweight prospect Danny Garcia (3-0, 3KOs) blew out Marlo Cortez (2-4-1, 1KO) in two rounds.
