Montiel vs Cermeno Officially Announced For June 25

Culiacan, Sinaloa - Fernando "Kochulito" Montiel held a press conference to officially announce his comeback fight, appearing for the first time since he suffered the defeat against Nonito Donaire. He will face Nehomar Cermeno is a fight being staged at the stadium Banorte in the Sinaloa capital. The fight will be broadcast by TV Azteca in a co-promotion between Corpox and Zanfer and supported by the Government of Sinaloa and H. Municipality of Culiacán, Sinaloa.

"I am very happy to fight in this city that I consider as my home even though I've never climbed into a ring in here," said Montiel. "Rest assured that I'll be at 100%. I am motivated to become the second Mexican to win four world titles [in four weight division] but I am focused on Cermeno, a Venezuelan boxer who is very experienced. He beat Cristian Mijares twice and he's hungry, like me, and wants to climb back to the top," Montiel said.

Montiel fighting someone his own size, good for him.. hopefully they wont put him someone that doesnt belong in the same weight class as him again

good news Nonito is the king but Montiel can beat other guys in the division want to see him against Vic at some point if Vic stays put

Montiel once again proves his heart. great boxers fighting tough fights is what makes them champions. cant wait till he wins 4 world titles.
