Montiel: I'm Ready For Anything Donaire Will Bring

By Jhonny Gonzalez

WBO/WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel has arrived in Las Vegas and he feels ready for Saturday's big defense against Nonito Donaire at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. In what he calls his "last fight at bantamweight" - Montiel wants to leave with a big statement as he rises in weight to super bantamweight ranks. The judges will not be needed in Las Vegas. Montiel predicts a knockout ending because both boxers have power in their fists.

"This fight, I asked to get it for years and now I will not fail. I'll leave with my arm raised high. I had a great great training because I know that I will be facing one of the most spectacular knockout artists around at the moment. Donaire has incredible speed and a good arsenal, but I'm ready for that and more," Montiel told Dave Kaufman. "Honestly I don't think the fight will decided with points. There is a lot of dynamite involved and at any time the bomb will explode...that I have no doubt."
