Moises Fuentes, Alejandro Gonzalez Continue Streaks

By Rafael Soto

Mexico's Moises Fuentes displayed an offensive arsenal and eventually secured a seventh round technical knockout over experienced Omar Salado at Foro Tecate in Tijuana, Mexico. Fuentes (19-1-1, 10 KO's), taking the fight at the flyweight limit, punished Salado (24-7-2, 15 KOs) as the rounds played out but he also showed a lot of defense to get away from the incoming shots.

As the fight continued, Salado's left eye was became badly swollen and he was bleeding around the area as well. The ring doctor examined Salado's eye several times in the fight, and during a second examination in the seventh round, he waved things off at 2:26 minutes, the doctor told the referee that Salado was unable to see from the left eye and waved off the fight.

In the co-feature, Alejandro "Cobrita" Gonzalez (21-0-2, 14 KOs) returned to show off the power of his fists, blowing out José Carlos "Coy" Vargas (13-8 - 1, 8 KOs) at 2:49 of the second round.
