Nadjib Mohammedi won the WBFed light heavyweight title last night in Les Pennes Mirabeau by knocking out defending champion Doudou Ngumbu in the fifth. Mohammedi landed with a left hook that broke Ngumbu´s nose and the followed up with a barrage that made Doudou go down and out.
The fight was level on two cards, 38-38, after four while the third judge had Ngumbu up at 39-37.
Mohammedi is now 28-3 while Ngumbu dipped to 29-4 in this all French matchup.
On the undercard former EBU cruiserweight champ Jean Marc Monrose, now 25-5, came back and outscored Adel Belhachemi, 5-9-2, over six.
