Mitchell: I'll Give John Murray a Rematch in a Year or So

Kevin Mitchell has promised John Murray a rematch - but with a world title on the line.

Mitchell sensationally halted Murray in eight rounds at the Liverpool Echo Arena to lift the WBO Intercontinental lightweight title on Saturday night.

And he says he would love a return.

"John turned down the chance of a world title fight to meet me instead," said Mitchell.

"He's a true gentleman and we're good mates. I'll return his generosity by giving him a rematch in a year or so.

"By then I will be a world champion, and the fight will be even bigger. He was good to me, and I'll keep my promise to him."
