It´s official: Mikkel Kessler is coming back to boxing. At a press conference earlier today in Copenhagen, the former WBA and WBC super middleweight champion announced that he is coming back to the ring.

However, there were no date announced for the comeback fight nor any details about his possible participation in the World Boxing Super Series. Kessler will now go on a three week training camp but again, he is already in very good shape. Whether or not the comeback takes at light heavyweight or super middleweight is also an open question.

Kessler (46-3, 35 KOs), 38-years-old, officially announced his retirement early 2015 but his last fight dates back to May 25, 2013, when he fought Carl Froch for the second time and lost on points after another classic battle.

Kessler had a lot of problems with injuries in the later stages of his career but has remained in good if not excellent shape and every now and then he has sparred with the likes of Abdul Khattab and Hampus Henriksson.

Super middleweight veteran Lolenga Mock, a guy who has sparred many rounds with Mikkel Kessler, continues his career and takes on American Dereck Edwards April 7 on the Danish Fight Night promoted by Brian Nielsen and Mogens Palle.

Mock is 7-0 on the DFN shows and all against solid opponents. For Edwards it his first fight since losing to Erik Skoglund in Sweden in December of 2015. He´s lost three of his last four but the win was against no other than Badou Jack and the losses to Andre Dirrell, Gilberto Ramirez and Skoglund.
