BoxingScene.com has been advised by a source familiar with the negotiations that a junior welterweight title fight between Mike Alvarado and Zab Judah is in play for October or November in Denver on HBO. The source spoke on the condition of anonymity, as they are not yet free to talk on the subject. RingTV's Mark Ortega was first to report the possibility of the fight.

Alvarado (34-1, 23 KOs) is recovering from surgery to repair a torn tendon in the middle finger of his left hand, so he can't fight any sooner than the fall.

Judah (42-8, 29 KOs) is coming off a spirited loss to Danny Garcia in April, and sources say that Judah would like to return "much sooner" than October or November, which is the hold-up in a deal getting done.

Judah gets stopped in this one. Alvarado unlike Garcia has proven that he can punch and will keep coming. He won't give Judah breathing room to recover. Posted from Boxingscene.com App for Android

let me make this clear if zab judah fights anybody at 140 he is plenty competition and more than a formidable opponent particularly when he stays sharp much respect to Alvarado but rios is a hittable target Zab can move and has more skill..

I give Zab a lot of credit for making himself relevant just when he seemed to be on the verge of becoming a gate keeper -- this despite declining skills -- but at this point Alvarado would be too much for him to handle and he'd probably get stopped....

[QUOTE=robust_]Looks like Danny Garcia gave Zab the word to find another dance partner because he will under no circumstances face The Machine. I like this fight. I want to see if Alvarado goes back to his pre-Rios II style or utilizes his boxing skills a bit more. Like others have mention...
