Mike Alvarado Injured, No Go With Vernon Paris
By Rick Reeno
BoxingScene.com was advised that undefeated junior welterweight contender Mike Alvarado (29-0, 21KOs) suffered a bicep injury during last Saturday's TKO win over Dean Harrison, which took place on the Fernando Montiel-Nonito Donaire undercard at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
Alvarado will not move forward with a scheduled fight against Vernon Paris (24-0, 14KOs) on April 16. Alvarado-Paris was the Showtime televised co-feature to Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Orlando Salido.
