Mijares Promises His Performance Will Amaze Santa Cruz
Former two-division champion Cristian Mijares (49-7-2, 24KOs) has vowed to snatch the WBC super bantamweight crown from undefeated defending champion Leo Santa Cruz (26-0-1, 15KOs). They are set to collide this coming Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, as part of the Saul Alvarez-Alfredo Angulo Showtime Pay-Per-View undercard.
“I’m ready to face him. I’m in the best condition of my life thanks to the great training camp I had. Santa Cruz will suffer if he wants to retain his title, which won’t happen. I will capture the belt. If this fight would take place tomorrow, I’d be ready. I won’t have any problems with the weight. I’ve stuck to a great diet, so I never worried about it and I'm focused fully on my boxing. Santa Cruz will be amazed. He will have to work very hard if he wants to defeat me, but like I said before - that won’t happen," Mijares said.
Movement bothers Leo no doubt but Mijares doesn't like to move so much. He prefers to stay in the pocket and evade punches, which is the worst approach possible vs Leo
IMO...SBW is going to be too much for him…Comment by HeroBando on 03-05-2014
Mijares gots this! :boxing: :boxing: it's plain to see that a southpaw with movement can give Santa Cruz problems, just watch the Cruz/Ceda fight and you'll see this.
