Mijares Inks Contract To Face Santa Cruz on March 8

By Jose Luis Camarillo, notifight.com

Former world champion Cristian Mijares has signed a contract to secure his mandatory shot at Leo Santa Cruz, the super bantamweight world champion of the World Boxing Council (WBC). The fight is scheduled to take place on the 8th of March at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The main event will feature a junior middleweight war between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Alfredo Angulo.

"For our part we already signed the contract already. We just need to talk to Golden Boy Promotions about Santa Cruz. I know he likes the fight. I only hope Santa Cruz also signed the contract," said Mijares' promoter Pepe Gomez.

Great fight, Cruz will come out on top. Mijares just too war torn.

nice card. santa cruz retires him though.. then we'll get another apology from Santa cruz saying that it took him 7 rounds to stop him instead of 4

Mihares has been talking a lot about a Santa Cruz matchup. He may get what he has wanted and is time to back up all the talk
