WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) opened up his training camp on Monday in Orlando, Florida. The Puerto Rican superstar is preparing for the most important fight of his entire career, as he prepares to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs) on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

This past weekend, Cotto arrived in Orlando with his Cuban coach, Pedro Diaz, and several other team members.

"Right now Miguel is in Orlando and Monday was the first day of official training," legal adviser Gabriel Peñagarícano told Carlos Gonzalez. "We are still tweaking certain details related to the camp and we want to make sure that he has everything that he needs."

Physical trainer Phil Landman will be incorporated in the next few days, but unlike his last training camp, Cotto will not have the assistance of his brother Jose Cotto, who is currently in New York in preparation for an upcoming fight against Mexico's Jose Luis Castillo on March 24.

However, super featherweight contender Luis Cruz, now trained by Diaz, is part of the camp and training for a possible April return.
