Las Vegas - There is a strong possibility that former champion Miguel Cotto (40-5, 33KOs) will return to 154-pounds.

Cotto started his career at junior welterweight, and picked up world titles at 140, 147, 154 and 160.

He was considerably smaller than Canelo when the two of them entered the ring. In three middleweight fights, he's weighed no more than 155-pounds.

Cotto's trainer, Freddie Roach, will speak to his boxer in the coming weeks and the subject of dropping down in weight will be discussed and seriously considered.

All of Cotto's fights in the middleweight division have taken pace at catch-weights - ranging from 159 to 155. During his entire campaign at the weight, he openly admitted that he wasn't a true middleweight.

"[Going back to 154-pounds is] definitely an option that we'll pursue, because going into the fight he weighs 159 and his opponent weighs like 175. [Canelo] was the bigger, stronger guy and we did have trouble backing him up. He did come forward a lot," Roach said.
