Miguel Cotto To Hit LA on 3/29, Camp Starts on 4/1

By Miguel Rivera

Former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) will leave Caguas for Los Angeles on March 29th and plans to begin training, with Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, on April 1. Cotto will attempt to make history on June 7th, when he challenges WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

"We are going to leave on March 29 for Los Angeles and then we'll we start training on April 1," Cotto said to GFR.  "Right now Freddie is concentrating on the fight involving [Manny] Pacquiao on April 12 [and then he will concentrate on me]. Thank God the fight is at Madison Square Garden, [a location] that has been great for my career. I expect the support of the Puerto Ricans in the Garden and especially when I win on June 7."
