WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (37-2, 30KOs) is very interested in making boxing history by becoming the first fighter to win four titles in four weight divisions. Cotto's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank has offered him a fight against WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (44-0-1, 31KOs).

Cotto wants to make history, at the right price. If the offer is right, Cotto has no problem with facing Chavez Jr. Cotto also cleared up any rumors by once again stating that his promotional ties are going to remain with Top Rank but the two sides are working without a contract for the moment.

"It's something that's attractive to us... we like it. We'll see what guarantees are there and what we're offered at 160 pounds. A lot of names have been mentioned [for my next fight], but we are going to continue to rest [until the start of 2012]. We are going to evaluate our options and select the best fight. I am with [Bob Arum], but we have nothing in writing," Cotto told Carlito Rosa.

[QUOTE=CymruAmByth]I think 160 is too much of a jump. He looks chubby at LMW let alone MW[/QUOTE] Agreed! Cotto wont be effective @160. He has reached his limit @154 for his frame.

i think this is a good fight. the size difference in favor of jr is a factor. jr appears to be improving with each fight. for jr if we wins he has beaten a proven fighter, although cotto is not a true middleweight. for cotto it means 4 divisions and beating a younger, bigger, up and comer. i thi...

All in All, I see this as a good fight. Cotto is looking for big money and this one would defnitely bring in some $$ in vegas or NYC..make it happen. Besides Chavez Jr. needs to man up and fight someone that isn't a C grade fighter. Sink or swim at this point, or keep on doing PPV exhibition figh...

What 4th title? I thought it was fight Sergio or get stripped by the WBC, at least thats what Sergio's team claims. Anyways, JC Jr seems to be on the up and up but Cotto is not Zbik or Manfredo Jr. He actually has skills and a decent punch and I could easily see Miguel teaching JC Jr a boxing les...
