By Miguel Rivera

Miguel Berchelt will have a exacting test on Saturday June 22 in Yucatan against Filipino Weng Haya, who’s well known for his great power. Berchelt (18-0, 15 KOs) and Haya (17-5, 9 KOs) will headline the card “Batalla de Guerreros” that will be promoted by Zanfer and Max boxing in Yucatan, Mexico.

“Alacrán” Berchelt last fought in March in Las Vegas where he KO’d Carlos Claudio in the first round. He's displayed great power in several of his fights.

Berchelt is barely 21 years old, but he’s already WBC international super featherweight youth champion and he has defeated Carlos Orozco (9-0) UD,r Sergio “Miky” López (14-5) by KO in the first round, Bernan Sanchez (26-4-3) by KO in the 2nd round and Oliver Flores (23-0-2) also by a 2 round KO.

In 2011, Haya almost stunned then WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido. He had Salido down in rounds three and four, but then went down and was stopped in round eight.
