Middleweight Churcher Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

by David P. Greisman

British middleweight Lee Churcher has been sentenced to four years in prison for conspiracy to supply cocaine, according to the South Wales Argus.

Churcher, 32, was one of five men arrested in the case. He pleaded guilty to the charge this past November. The other four have also pleaded guilty, according to the newspaper.

Churcher is listed on BoxRec.com as the British Boxing Board of Control’s Welsh Area middleweight titleholder, a belt he picked up after stopping a 19-9 foe named Barrie Jones in May 2012.

That was the last time Churcher appeared in the ring. He had fought 14 times since turning pro in 2009, going 10-3-1 with 3 KOs and winning his past four bouts.
