Look what the Katz dragged in!

It is my pleasure to announce to our readership that Hall of Fame writer Michael Katz will be joining BoxingScene.com as a regular contributor.

Katz, born and bred in New York, but currently living in Las Vegas, began covering the sport of boxing for the New York Times in 1960 and stayed with the paper in a variety of positions until he left in 1985 to join the New York Daily News. In 2000, he left the News to begin covering the sport on the internet as a featured contributor for the now-defunct houseofboxing.com.

Over the years, Katz has built a very loyal following while writing for a variety of boxing websites. Regarded as one of the most respected writers in the boxing business, Katz brings his talents, vast knowledge and expert views to the readers of BoxingScene.

"I believe that Michael Katz is the crowning jewel to an already talented roster of writers. There are few pundits currently in the game that even come close to the writing abilities of Michael Katz," said BoxingScene editor-in-chief Rick Reeno.

Katz will make his BoxingScene debut next week.

[QUOTE=IMDAZED]Very true. Katz coined that phrase when he was working for the NY Daily News. He also predicted Holyfield-Tyson II would end up in an early technical draw or something like that. I haven't always agreed with him but he's always been a solid read and, more than anyone, the one write...

[QUOTE=BIGPOPPAPUMP]One and the same. He created the whole "chicken" de la hoya nickname. It's not slander, it's an opinion. And, at the time it was true, De La Hoya was unwilling to fight anyone other than an old Chavez. After there were many who saw Oscar losing to bothe Whitaker and Quartey, D...
