Three Mexican warriors ready for war against tough Filipino opponents arrive in Cebu on Monday for another storied chapter in the continuing saga of Philippine-Mexican rivalry in the ring.

Light welterweight Rosbel Montoya, super bantamweight Jorge Pazos and welterweight  Angel Martinez arrive early in order to get over the jetlag from a long flight and to get acclimatized before they enter the ring for AL Promotions  “Pinoy Pride XV” at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu.

The fights will be telecast by the giant broadcast network ABS-CBN over its premier Channel 2 on Sunday at 10:15 a.m. with a replay on Studio 23 at 6:15 p.m..

27 year old Montoya who insists his record is 34-1-4 with 29 knockouts and not the boxrec.com record of  (16-3-1, 13 KO’s) is determined to repeat his impressive win over promising 24 year old Jason Pagara (28-2, 17 KO’s) last September 10 with Pagara equally committed to avenging that loss and winning the WBO International junior welterweight title.

In a WBO Asia Pacific super bantamweight title fight, Pazos who has a record of 20-3 with 13 knockouts hopes to stop the unbeaten run of talented 20 year old Jason “Azukal” Servania (18-0, 6 KO’s) who is coming off a stunning 12th round TKO over many times world title challenger Genaro “Poblanito” Garcia last June 2 in which he won the WBC International Silver title.

In a ten round non-title clash that is expected to be a slugfest, 21 year old  Angel Martinez (13-2-1, 9 KO’s) takes on hard-hitting southpaw Jimrex Jaca. Nicknamed “The Executioner” Jaca has a record of 34-6-3 with 19 knockouts and is best remembered for his spectacular 1st round knockout of Pipino Cuevas Jr, son of the former world champion Pipino Cuevas  on August 28, 2010.

But Martinez isn’t awed by the Filipino fighters reputation having fought such world class
Opponents as Lucas Matthysse against whom he retired in the 6th round in a face off for the vacant WBA Intercontinental light welterweight title last February 10.

Matthysse had big wins over Humberto Sotto and DeMarcus  Corley among others.
