Angel "Memo" Heredia, strength and conditioning coach for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., promises that his boxer will not have any issues with making the contract catch-weight of 164.5-pounds for his scheduled fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Chavez Jr. will start a hard training camp in February at the Otomí Ceremonial Center, located in the Mexican mountains.

Memo prepared Chavez for last month's fight in Mexico with Germany's Dominik Britisch. It was the first time in over two years that Chavez made the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.

"There should be no problem with the weight," said Heredia to ESPN Deportes. "We have really been controlling the weight, he has not gone up that much [since the last fight], it will be easier. I will be living with him in the same house and we're going to do the camp together. This will be better because then I can verify that he will do things well, eat better, have control of all of his calories, and there should be no problem. At 164.5 pounds, he can do that without problems, but of course he will have to concentrate more on the weight and taking care of the physical training."

Memo said that he had given Julio three training options, and in the end the boxer opted for the mythical Otomí, which was also home to fighters like Érik Morales, José Luis Castillo and Jorge 'Travieso' Arce.

"We will look for the elevated height of the area. I told him that it would be good to do that.. one option was Big Bear, Mexico City and Otomí Ceremonial Center. He liked the idea of ??Otomí, his father had done great physical preparations there. He liked it. The elevation of the area will be good and we will do great physical work there."

Finally, he stated that he will see a even better version of Julio than we saw in last month's win over Britsch.

"We will see a much stronger, centered Junior, and the physical preparation will be planned according to the date and we will work specific key points to correct Junior's weaknesses, look for more speed and explosiveness and maintain our physical condition so that he reaches the fight at a maximum level. We will see a strong Junior," Heredia said.
