Benoit Gaudet of Drummondville (24-2-0) will face the current NABA champion at lightweight, Ontario's Logan McGuinness (15-0-1), on August 27. The duel will be the main battle presented on a card at the Air Canada in Toronto. The information available suggests the fight will be scheduled for twelve rounds.

Benoit Gaudet, promoted under Montreal firm InterBox alongside world champion Lucian Bute and the young sensation Pier-Olivier Côté, lost in a world championship fight against WBC super featherweight champ Humberto Soto on the Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton undercard in May of 2009. The fight was broadcast on HBO. Since then, Gaudet has won several fights, including a severa sixth round stoppage of Argentine boxer Ceferino Dario Labarda last October.

For his part, Ontario's Logan Cotton McGuinness, a protégé of the firm Hennessy Canada, is still undefeated and poised to make the second title defense of the NABA title on June 24 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. He will face an opponent to be confirmed. The majority of his fights have been staged in Canada, but he also fought in England, Ireland and the United States.
