UFC champion Conor McGregor has continued to blame Showtime for a microphone malfunction during Tuesday's press conference at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

McGregor has been livid because he believes Showtime intentionally manipulated his mic, to prevent him from responding to the verbal bombs that were being hurled by Floyd Mayweather Jr.

It was the first leg of a four city tour to promote their upcoming fight on August 26th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Showtime issued a statement to McGregor's claims:

"At no point did SHOWTIME or Event Productions cut any microphones intentionally during Tuesday's kickoff event in Los Angeles."

"The point of this world tour is to let these superstars interact with each other. Cutting their mics would go against our goal of delivering these fighters to the masses and letting their charismatic and entertaining personalities take centre stage."

The network's explanation was not good enough for McGregor, who went bonkers during the Wednesday press conference in Toronto, Canada.

McGregor personally went off on Showtime Sports head Stephen Espinoza and the entire network as a whole. Mayweather-McGregor is being carried by Showtime Pay-Per-View.

“While we’re at it, f*** Showtime too,” McGregor said. “You little weasel. Look at you you little f***ing weasel, I can see it in your eyes, you’re a f***ing bitch. Cut my mic off? Cut the champ’s mic off? Hell no. You f***ing weasel.”

“They’re trying to set me up at every turn out here. They’re trying to catch me off guard. … There is nothing they can do to faze me. Twenty-eight years of age, I’m getting fight checks and promoter checks. When Floyd was 28, he was on Oscar De La Hoya’s undercard.”

McGregor, who will start as an overwhelming underdog against one of the most accomplished defensive fighters in history, was bullish about his prospects of victory. "The 0 has got to go," McGregor declared, referring to Mayweather's perfect 49-0 record.
