Mayweather: We're Not Looking To Go The Distance!

By CARLOS ARIAS

If Floyd Mayweather beats Marcos Maidana on Saturday night at the MGM Grand on Showtime PPV, he would become the first fighter to simultaneously hold a two world titles at 154 pounds and two world titles at 147 pounds. Currently Mayweather holds the WBA/WBC titles at 154 and the WBC title at 147. Maidana has the WBA's title at 147.

"We do know I'm the WBC and WBA champion at junior-middleweight and I'm the WBC champion at welterweight. We do know that. I love accomplishing certain things. That's a part of my legacy, of course, but I don't go in there talking about I just want to win this belt," Mayweather said.

"I want to look impressive when I go out there Saturday. I want to look impressive, put on a good show and we don't look for this fight to go the distance. (Maidana's trainer) Robert talking about he not looking for the fight to go the distance. We not looking for it to go the distance. You gonna get a hell of a fight Saturday. I guarantee you that."

Maidana was robbed! Mayweather made a broken promise again! Certainly I didn't see him looking for a knockout against Maidana! Maidana was the one looking for the knockout the whole fight!

[QUOTE=davetheone;14497663]Planned stunt or not; It is obvious that the fight with paqiou could not be made because of Mayweather; not because of Top Rank or Team Paqiou. Floyd Mayweather has to handicap any credible opponent (He screwed Marquez and came…

What legacy Floydie? Greatest of all time? HA! You mean greatest ducker of all time. Sugar Ray Robinson didn't retire undefeated. He took on any and every fighter. And he had some amazing victories against extremely tough odds. There's the…
