Mayweather Wants Legit Loss, Not Tainted With Steroids

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was a massive quotebook during the New York City press conference to announce his fight with Victor Ortiz, which is scheduled for September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. From Ortiz, to ex-promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, to steroids, and of course Manny Pacquiao - Mayweather gave more than enough quotes to go around.

Implying That Bob Arum Rips Pacman Off - “You hear a fighter is getting $20 million, then you check and you find out he’s really getting $6 million.”

On People Criticizing His Recent Foes - “When I fought Mosley, he was the Number 2 guy…but then I fight Mosley and they say, he is too old or they say (Juan Manuel) Marquez is too small. I don’t think I can get my just due.”

Comparing Baseball Banned Drug User Barry Bonds to Pacquiao…Somehow - “A guy can come from another country to our country and do it, no problem but when Barry Bonds does it, it’s hold on.”

On Why He’ll Fight Ortiz Sept. 17 after a 16 month Hiatus - “I miss the sport.”

On Arum Backing Handwrap Cheater Antonio Margarito - “Panama Lewis, he got banned for life but Arum wasn’t for him, a black trainer…but Arum was for Margarito…”

Possibly Losing His Unbeaten Status To Pacquiao - “If you beat me, I want you to earn it. I don’t want it to be tainted [with steroid abuse claims].”
