Mayweather Sr: Bey Has Two More, Then Burns-Vazquez

By Edward Chaykovsky

Lightweight contender Mickey Bey Jr. (19-0-1, 10KOs) scored a very impressive third round knockout of Robert Rodriguez on Saturday night in Las Vegas. It was Bey's first fight since November 2011. Now promoted by Mayweather Promotions, and trained by Floyd Mayweather Sr., Bey wants to land a title shot by the end of the year.

Mayweather Sr. wants Bey, 29-years-old, to take two more fights and then he thinks Bey will be ready for the winner of the lightweight unification between Ricky Burns and Miguel Vazquez, scheduled for March 16th in the UK.

"I think he needs two more fights like that before the title. We get two more fights like that and then he can get the winner of that fight with Vazquez and the kid from England," Mayweather Sr. said.
