Much has been made of the (non-)ticket situation surrounding the May 2nd bout between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. As of this week, no tickets have been sold to the public - in fact, nobody has even seen an actual ticket as both sides have haggled over the original agreement regarding the allocation of tickets.
But Bob Arum told Boxingscene.com this afternoon that there seems to be a resolution and that tickets could be coming soon.
"Yes, but we have to see it in writing," he warned. "But it is true that everything is resolved."
Just last night, a ticket manifest was delivered to Top Rank by Mayweather Promotions, the lead promoter for this event. Very few of these tickets will actually be sold to the public; most will go to the high-rollers, celebrities, sponsors and other dignitaries.
When asked about the closed-circuit in Las Vegas, Arum stated,"That's part of the release of the ticket deal." The veteran promoter said there will be 37,000 closed-circuit tickets in the city.
But Arum isn't breathing easy, just yet.
“’Till I see the contract with the changes that we've agreed to, I would hold comment. I think everybody realizes that they gotta quit f****n’ around."
