Las Vegas, Nevada - Floyd Mayweather Jr. was not happy with the trash talking that came from his father and trainer, Floyd Mayweather Sr., during the final press conference for Saturday's Showtime pay-per-view headliner against Andre Berto.

The two fighters were rather quiet when they spoke about their upcoming welterweight title showdown at the MGM Grand, but their trainers raised the temperature.

Berto's trainer, Virgil Hunter, got the ball rolling when he insinuated that Mayweather and Berto had an ongoing personal issue with each other - possibly over a female.

When it was Floyd Sr.'s turn to address the media, he began to recite a poem - which consisted of numerous pot shots in Berto's direction.

“I want to apologize for both trainers, for both trainers for coming up here and talking about things that are not important. The trainers don’t have to fight. It comes down to the two fighters. I want to commend [Mayweather CEO] Leonard [Ellerbe] for carrying himself like classy guy," Mayweather said.

Then Mayweather went further, stating that his father's trash talk predictions of Berto "falling on his ass" were irrelevant to what actually happens in the ring.

“I reflect back on when [my father] had Ricky Hatton and he faced [Manny] Pacquiao and he got up here and talked all the stuff for Ricky Hatton and we see what happened [when Pacquiao knocked Hatton out in two]. It has nothing to do with the trainers, it comes down to the fighters. That’s what’s important,” Mayweather said.
