Mayweather: Maidana Knows He Will Lose, He Wants Money

By Edward Chaykovsky

WBA/WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (46-0, 26KOs) sees no reason to make adjustments in his upcoming Showtime Pay-Per-View rematch against Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31KOs) on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Maidana lost a twelve round majority decision in their May 3rd fight.

Mayweather says it is Maidana, the fighter on the losing end of their first meeting, who needs to make the adjustments for the rematch.

“I don’t have to make any adjustments going into this fight, but he does. I won the fight. If I spar against someone and they win three of twelve rounds against me, that’s a bad day for me. I am a perfectionist and I set the bar so high. Maidana knows in his heart that he didn’t win," Mayweather said.

According to Mayweather, Maidana knows he will lose again in September. He feels the Argentine puncher's main motivation for their fall rematch is not the glory of victory - but to get a big payday.

“I know that if I lost this fight, then I wouldn’t take it again. Maidana isn’t stupid, the reason why he is trying to fight me again is because he is going to make more money fighting me than anyone else, even though he knows he will lose again,” Mayweather said.

Floyd wins but I don't see him completely dominating. Another win just like his win against Castillo in the second fight. Maidana will once again come to fight and will have his moments..

Maidana is gonna get a boxing lesson this time and there will be no fighting in the pocket with this dirty wild fighter.
