LAS VEGAS --- Floyd Mayweather was put to the test like never before and he pulled out a 12-round majority decision over Marcos "El Chino" Maidana.

"Tonight I wanted to fight and give the fans their money's worth," Mayweather said.

There was speculation that this could be Mayweather's last fight, but he said he would grant Maidana a rematch.

"If the fans want to see it again, we'll do it again," Mayweather said.

Maidana believes he won the fight and he had different view of a rematch.

"Yes, I would give him a rematch," Maidana said.

A 37 year old past prime Mayweather with no legs almost lost the fight but gave the critics a fight they wanted. People wanted him to stand still and fight and well thats what he did. Granted Maidana wasn't lashing the entire time but he was bust enough to make it entertaining and competitive...
It's funny how this worked out. Garcia isn't fighting at 147 until next year. Khan won't be ready until November, Thurman and Porter aren't ready, and Floyd probably isn't going to move up again. Rematch Maidana and you have your bout for September. Khan in May and Thurman/P...
This labels any debate on the issue as superfluous! :) :) :)
I disagree with that score through the first six and so do countless other people, even if you don't agree, it was more than close enough to warrant both a rematch, and lots of discussion.
