Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) made more money in one night than most superstar fighters have made in a lifetime.

On May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Mayweather finally stepped in the ring with his career rival, Manny Pacquiao. While it lacked the expected fireworks, it certainly generated an ocean of money.

The fight sold 4.4 million on pay-per-view by early estimates, and had a gate of $71 million. The total revenue figure for the event is around $500 million. Mayweather had a 60-40 revenue split in his favor.

Between his share of the revenue (minus the monies paid to pay-per-view distributers and other associated expenses), and sponsorships and other revenue streams - Mayweather believes he took in (or is going to take in) around $275 or $276 million.

"How much money I made? Probably 275, 276," Mayweather said.

Mayweather believes he paved the way for many other fighters to receive the high figure purses they are currently getting.

Mayweather's promotional company is handling the promotional duties for both PBC (Premier Boxing Champions) events this coming weekend, and says the top fighters involved are making "a lot of money."

"When I was fighting in the beginning, these type of guys were not making this type of money. Not these small guys. Not even the big guys. They were making okay money. I do know the numbers buy I cant really put the numbers out there. I can't talk  about the numbers we're doing. We're making sure guys are comfortable," Mayweather said.
