Mayweather: He Thinks He Won, Use The Same Gloves!

If Marcos Maidana believes he won the fight, then Floyd Mayweather Jr. feels he should use the same exact gloves from their first meeting, which took place on May 3rd, and stop making demands to use the Everlast MX gloves.

Mayweather will defend his WBC/WBA welterweight titles in a rematch with Maidana on September 13th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Following the official weigh-in for their first encounter, Mayweather rejected Maidana's selection of the Everlast MX gloves. According to Mayweather, the Everlast MX gloves were altered and missing padding around the knuckle area. Despite the Nevada State Athletic Commission approving a second pair of Everlast MX gloves, Mayweather still rejected their use.

Instead, Maidana was forced to wear a different style of Everlast gloves, which the Argentine boxer says were "uncomfortable" and overpadded around the fist.

Will the next opponent in line be made to wear Mayweather approved gloves? Oppose to boxing commission approved gloves? This is where boxing authorities should step in, Floyd is making a mockery of our sport.

Floyd is a warrior for taking this fight before the 6 months it takes for his cut to heal.
