Mayorga: If Mayweather Beats Me, I'll Fight For Free

BoxingScene.com caught up with three time world champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga last week on the set of NUVO TV's new reality show, Knockout.

Members of the press gathered around the Nicaraguan to get his take on various upcoming fights and also asked him who he would like next.  He said that one fighter he would like to face is WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez but said that he would root for Miguel Cotto when the two face each other in June.

"It is a good fight but truthfully I will be pulling for Cotto," Mayorga explained.

Mayorga said that he will fight as a middleweight in his next fight but also said that if he goes back down to 154 pounds, that he would like to face pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.  The flamboyant Mayorga went as far as to say that he feels he could stop Mayweather and said that he would fight for free if he lost the fight.

"Out of all the fights out there, if I go back to 154 the fight that I really want is Floyd Mayweather.  I know I can beat him.  Styles make fights and with my style I can beat him.  Not only that but we can make a contract where if I beat him he pays me and if he wins then he doesn't have to pay me.  That is the offer I want to make to him because I know I can knock him out quickly," Mayorga told BoxingScene.com.

The funny thing is Mayorga had just one great win in his career and that was against Forrest. But i love the trash talk.
