Ricardo Mayorga left nothing in the tank after he finished insulting WBA 154-pound champion Miguel Cotto. Mayorga has promised to retire Cotto on March 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He claims to have been studying all of Cotto's fights and feels the Puerto Rican star is now a shot fighter. Mayorga pledged to send Cotto into retirement by providing him with a similar beating to the one received by Antonio Margarito last November from Manny Pacquiao.

He took aim at Cotto for making his mother suffer with the beatings against Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey and Manny Pacquiao. Mayorga claims the beatings will finally end in Las Vegas when he sends Cotto packing within four rounds.

"I'm going to make you think about retirement like Margarito should, after Pacquiao took care of him. I'm going to do the same to you and make you think twice about stepping back in that ring. Don't let your mom and your family suffer anymore by allowing yourself to continue to take beatings in the ring. Stop making them suffer," Mayorga said.

"I'm going to knock him out and prove to everyone in Nicaragua. First time that I'm fighting someone who is as small as a kid. But the pay-per-view and watch the retirement party for Miguel. I'm going to convince him that he should retire."

He won't catch Miguel with anything of Consequence. At best, he'll swell a little but Cotto's chin is very underrated.
I don't know what he's done to deserve it
Well you might have a point to an extent, but that really doesn't matter now. Considering Cotto is still on the comeback trail after the loss to Pacman.....he needs a tuneup and the right guy would probably be Mayorga. Not to m...

So Cotto will probably be about 10 lbs lighter than Mayorga right? Not like that matters all that much but Mayorga can punch really hard. I don't see how Cotto would outweigh Mayorga at all.
