Super middleweight contender Maxim Vlasov will fight former welterweight contender Mark Suarez on Friday, July 12th, matchmaker Chris Middendorf told Boxingscene.com on Wednesday morning.

The scheduled eight round bout will headline a "Fire and Ice" card inside the San Manuel Hall at the Fairgrounds in Ventura, CA.

The Russian-born Vlasov (25-1, 12 KOs) resides and trains in nearby Oxnard at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy. He has won his last six bouts in a row since a 10 round unanimous decision loss to Isaac Chilemba on February 25th of 2011.

Suarez (25-3, 13 KOs) hails from Riverside, CA. He has not fought since losing by technical knockout at the hands of Kermit Cintron in October of 2006.

Prior to the fight against Cintron, Suarez had stopped seven fighters in a row, including Raul Munoz, Jason Papillon, and James Webb.

Also on the card are unbeaten middleweight Simeon Hardy (10-0, 7 KOs) and lightweight Javier Garcia (9-2-2, 8 KOs) in separate bouts.
