Junior welterweight Max Becerra won a one-sided eight round decision over Martin Angel Martinez late Saturday night at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif.

Becerra has now won his last four bouts and improves to 12-2-2, with 7 KOs. Martinez drops to 17-11-1, with 11 KOs.

Becerra utilized his reach out keep Martinez on the outside, scoring repeatedly with right hands to Martinez’s head. Becerra dropped Martinez in round seven, but was content to out Martinez until the final bell.

All three judges scored the bout 79-71 in favor of Becerra.

“It was a great win for me,” said Becerra, who is co-managed by Charles Bosecker. “(Martinez) was more experienced. I feel like I learned a lot in this fight and I’m ready to keep progressing.”

Three-time Olympian Anvar Yunusov made his professional debut Saturday night, winning a one-sided six round over Justin Savi.

All three judges scored the bout 60-54 in favor of Yunusov, who represented Tajikistan in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games.

Savi falls to 30-13-2, with 20 KOs.

Bantamweight Sergio Lopez won a hard-fought six round majority decision over 19-year-old Danny Andujo (4-2, with 1 KO). One judge scored the bout 57-57, while the other two judges scored the bout 58-56 and 59-55 in favor of Lopez, who improves to 3-4-1.

In junior middleweight action, Moris Rodriguez (6-9-1, with 3 KOs) snapped a five-bout losing streak with a four round unanimous decision over David Lopez. Rodriguez dropped Lopez (4-1, with 3 KOs) in round three en route to winning by scorecards of 39-36, 39-36, and 40-35.

Lightweight George Acosta (2-0) won a one-sided four round decision Antonio Cardona (0-1-1). All three judges scored the bout 40-36 in favor of Acosta.

In a battle of junior featherweights making their pro debut, Jacob Lerma from nearby Thermal stopped Tyrone Wills at 1:55 of the second round.
