Junior welterweight Mauricio Herrera is scheduled to return to the ring on September 27th, Thompson Boxing Promotions matchmaker Alex Camponovo told Boxingscene.com last week.
Herrera will headline a "Path to Glory" card at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario, CA.
No word yet on who Herrera will face on the 27th.
Herrera (19-3, 7 KOs), from Riverside, CA, won a one-sided 10 round unanimous decision over Ji-Hoon Kim in his last fight on May 2nd in Corona, CA.
The win snapped consecutive unanimous decision losses Herrera suffered at the hands of Mike Alvarado and, more recently, Karim Mayfield.
Herrera is no stranger to fighting at the Doubletree Hotel in Ontario. The fight on the 27th will mark the 11th time Herrera has fought inside the venue.
