Mario Arano, the manager of hard-punching junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs), feels his boxer is on the verge of becoming a superstar in the sport. Golden Boy Promotions is trying to finalize a deal for Matthysse to face WBC/WBA champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) on September 7th. Matthysse is the mandatory challenger to Garcia's WBC crown.

"We have not signed for that fight but I have the word from the people of Golden Boy and the WBC, that we are going to fight [Garcia] in September. We've been looking for that fight for seven months. We have overcome two obstacles and we want the title. As his manager, I consider Lucas to be the best boxer from Argentina, pound for pound. But better yet, Lucas is one step away from becoming a superstar, one fight [away]. And if Lucas knocks out Garcia as I think will happen, it is certain that he will be a superstar," Arano said.
