Mandatory challenger Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs) is sitting back and waiting for Golden Boy Promotions to finalize a deal for a championship match with WBC/WBA beltholder Danny Garcia. BoxingScene.com reported on Thursday that Garcia-Matthysse is being moved away from a planned date of September 7th.

Matthysse believes that he did his part in making the fight by knocking out IBF champion Lamont Peterson, in a non-title fight, in the third round on May 18th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Both Matthysse and Garcia are represented by Golden Boy and now both boxers are even being guided by the influental adviser Al Haymon.

“I defeated Peterson. I accomplished my part. Now I hope they fulfil what they promised me - a fight with Danny Garcia,” Matthysse said.
