BoxingScene.com has been advised that negotiations are underway for Lucas Matthysse (32-2, 30KOs) to defend his WBC interim-junior welterweight belt versus "Hammerin' " Hank Lundy (22-2-1, 11KOs) on January 19th. The fight will be televised by Showtime as the co-feature to the IBF welterweight title clash between Devon Alexander and Kell Brook. The event takes place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California.

According to our sources the contracts haven't been signed but most of the key points have been agreed to. Lundy would be moving up from the lightweight division to face the hard hitting Argentine slugger.

Matthysse stopped Ajose Olusegun in his most recent fight while Lundy lost a controversial majority decision to Raymundo Beltran is his previous ring appearance in July.
They took Matthysse off the Garcia card... He's on the Alexander-Brook card now. So whatever reason that was, it's gone now It's evident GBP was bluffing with the idea of putting Matthysse on the Garcia card and wants Garcia nowhere near Matthysse.
My bad. Well then yeah...
Garcia is next. He's gotten his two gimmes, Morales II and Judah. Time to defend his crown against the best contender. Both with GBP, get it done.
Garcia vs Khan II....Lucas gets the winner.....I can smell GBP cooking that up :boxing:
After how bad he looked against Beltran (who was picked to make him look good no doubt) he should take an easier fight. Beltran offered/ wanted a rematch, Lundy should have tried to avenge the loss or fight a tune-up, this will probably end his career as a top fighter.
...
Unfortunately it is true. It is like they consider him to be non marketable and just want to see him fight in the back ground while keeping him away from their cash cows. They would probably sign him over to top rank for free!LOL
They gave him a shot at Alexander though....
