Matthysse Stops Martinez, Moves on To Humberto Soto

Gimnasio Municipal, Trelew, Argentina - Hard-punching junior welterweight Lucas Matthysse (30-2, 28 KOs) stopped Angel Martinez (13-2-1, 9 KOs) after five rounds of action. Martinez was unable to come out for the sixth round. Matthysse will now move forward to a very important fight on May 19th against former champion Humberto Soto at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Matthysse-Soto will be the HBO televised opener for the Amir Khan-Lamont Peterson rematch.
