Matthysse Plans To Get in Some Rounds With Tim Bradley

By Rick Reeno

In the coming days, junior welterweight contender Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32KOs) is planning to spar with WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (30-0, 12KOs). Both boxers have very important fights coming up. Matthysse is going to face WBA/WBC champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs) on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, while Bradley will defend his title against Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs) on October 12th at the Thomas & Mack Center, also in Las Vegas.

Matthysse is already in the United States, in Los Angeles, to get fully adjusted to the climate and time schedule. Although Bradley and Garcia have very different fighting styles, Matthysse says Bradley's speed will help him greatly against Garcia.

"The speed and the experience [of Bradley will help me]. Obviously he has very good speed and that's going to help a lot," Matthysse said.

[QUOTE=JDezi4;13684498]Its simple logic, if he can hit Bradley, he can hit Garcia. If he can adapt to Bradley's style, he can adapt to anything Garcia has to offer When u spar, u don't spar down, you spar up I'm sure…
