Matthew Hatton Sends a Firm Warning To Kell Brook

MATTHEW Hatton aims to show Kell Brook just who is the daddy when the pair meet in a massive domestic dust-up next week.

Hatton, 30, became a father for the second time on Sunday – just a few weeks after welterweight opponent Brook saw the arrival of his first child.

Hatton’s partner Jenna Coyne gave birth to daughter Lola Louise, while unbeaten Brook’s girlfriend Lindsey also had a daughter called Nevaeh.

The pair meet in a 12-round battle at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena on March 17, with the winner likely to get a world title shot.

But ‘Magic’ Matthew, younger brother of former two-weight world champ Ricky, said: “I’ll show Kell who the daddy is.”

Hatton, who will be having his 50th pro fight, added: “Lola was born on Sunday morning and it helped me escape the usual Sunday run with my trainer Bob Shannon!

“Boxing is important to me, obviously, but with both of my kids, nothing comes before them – family is the most important thing. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”

Hatton already has a son, Jack, and added: “I was ready to have a bit of disruption to my training, but am now concentrating fully on this fight. It is a fight that I am going into absolutely confident I can win.

“Kell is a very good fighter but I believe I am the better fighter.

“I know I am up for a massive challenge but I know what I am capable of.

“I know he is in for a massive challenge as well. I believe I have boxed at the better level.

“I have boxed on the big occasions in the big arenas on the big nights. I am more confident of winning this fight than I have ever been.

“Being Ricky’s brother has opened the door for some great opportunities.

“That experience must stand me in good stead for this fight.

“But, more importantly, I am a better fighter now than I was three, four, five, eight or 10 years ago.”

Hatton is too feather fisted to give Brooks trouble. Experience may help him last the distance though.

There's only one winner in this fight and it certainly aint Hatton. As soon as Brook connects, Hatton will curl up into his shell, play it ultra defensive and hope to hear the final bell.
