WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) will not be alone when he defends his title against former three division champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) on June 7th at New York's Madison Square Garden. New York City is a second home to Cotto, largely due to the massive Puerto Rican community in the city.

Sampson Lewkowicz, adviser to Martinez, expects a large army of support for Martinez at the venue. Based on the heavy anticipation in Argentina, Lewkowicz expects as many as 5,000 fans to travel over in support of Martinez on fight night.

The two sides have been negotiating for weeks and a deal is very close to being finalized. Martinez and his team are already on board. They are waiting to get the green light from Cotto.
