Marquez, Zanfer Meeting is Targeted For September 6

By Salvador Rodriguez

According to promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions, he intends to sit down with former four division champion Juan Manuel Marquez (56-7-1, 40KOs) on the weekend of September 6th in Mexico City, when the anticipated showdown takes place between WBA/WBO flyweight champion Juan Francisco Estrada and mandatory challenger Giovani Segura. Marquez, who just turned 41-years-old, is still undecided on whether he intends to fight again.

"We think that on September 6th we might sit down to define something. We want to talk to him and for him to tell us whether he will continue in boxing or whether he's going to decide to hang up the gloves. The future of Juan Manuel is very important to us and we are going to support whatever [he decides]," Beltran said.
