Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez believes the recent information that several papers disclosed regarding a taxation problem is a simple misunderstanding. According to several reports in the Mexican press, Marquez owes 18 million pesos [$1.37 million USD] to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit in Mexico. The controversy back home is not distracting Marquez from the task at hand, Saturday's big fight against WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
"I'm focused on what I have to do. This does not take away the dream because I know we are doing things right. I think it's just a misunderstanding with the institution. I'm going to get focused on my fight on Saturday and when I return to Mexico I have to fix this situation," said Marquez.
