Marquez Reacts To Nacho's Claim: I Have Not Changed

Mexican icon Juan Manuel Marquez is very surprised with the recent comments that came from his longtime trainer Nacho Beristain. The Hall of Fame coach, in a recent interview, said he believed Marquez "had changed" because of the money and the post-fight fame he received from knocking out Manny Pacquiao in the sixth round last December.

Nacho says Marquez has barely spoken to him or visted their gym since the fight.

"Previously after a fight it never took so long for him to visit the gym or go come visit his colleagues," Nacho said.

"It's the same story with all boxers. I have had more than 20 world champions, and this almost always happens with everyone."

Marquez was shocked that Nacho would mame these kind of statements.

"I am surprised at what he said, because there is alot of trust between us and he would tell me something like this. I have had a thousand commitments and other things, and that is why I have not been able to go to the gym to see them, but because of anything else, I am still the same, everything is okay. I haven't changed anything," Marquez said.

Marquez is expected to make a decision on his next fight in April.
