A few days ago, Juan Manuel Marquez made it clear that he was not interested in a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao.
The two boxers faced off in four grueling battles, with Marquez winning their fourth and final confrontation with a brutal sixth round knockout in 2012.
Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, named Marquez as a possible candidate for Manny's return to the ring in early 2016.
Marquez, who is pondering the possibility of another fight or two before retirement, rejected Arum's suggestion.
The former four division champion wants the fans to see something else, some new blood in the ring with Pacquiao. He'd like to see Pacquiao face the likes of IBF champion Kell Brook, and unbeaten Terence Crawford and Danny Garcia.
"I am no longer on the radar of Pacquiao. I want to see [Pacquiao face] new challenges like Kell Brook or Terence Crawford, or even Danny Garcia. They are unbeaten opponents with quality, and they would certainly serve the purpose in proving that he is still not done in terms of competing in the big leagues," said Marquez to ESPN Deportes.
"He can still compete with anyone. The loss to Mayweather does not mean that he is finished. You have to compete with the best, but with fights that I previously mentioned he can show that he is still that same fighter."
